Proudly and with pleasure I like to introduce CouturedeMur to you!
I named this collection, in addition to my work as a costume designer, “CouturedeMur”.
In these handmade “costumes” I work exclusively with interior fabrics, mostly wool in various colors and designs.
This field of interior design and wall decoration requires a different designer skill that evokes a new passion and love for my profession.
These “portraits” of fabric, the process of sketching, lots of measuring, cutting, preparing the fabrics and stitching them together and finally a perfectly fitting result, have inspired me so much to get started with this in my own studio.
So this time not in costumes for a human body but as expressly present made-to-measure suits in your interior or public space.
Not a painting but a CouturedeMur; large and centimeters thick wooden frames that are decorated with a frugal or a colorful look.
The CouturedeMur not only has a front, but also the back and the sides are covered with fabric, for the wooden frame sits always tight in his suit. The CouturedeMur is also a wonderful solution for rooms that need acoustics improvement for they significantly reduce the sound.
And not entirely unimportant, every CouturedeMur is and remains unique.
If desired, the “Couture de Mur” can be designed to your own taste, preference and dimensions, including the incorporation of a precious piece of clothing into this wall decoration is possible.
I also work on behalf of companies to incorporate their logos in a CouturedeMur, with which they are assured of a unique and very personal work of art on the wall that immediately gives a warm and impressive appearance.
The sample books of interior companies, for example, can also be converted in this way into a special presentation of their collection.
On this platform I present 3 collections, among which a series of free works in combination with my costumes, the Wall of Fame and the Colored People series. A number of CouturedeMur can be seen in the home improvement stores of Berden Wonen in Limburg, others in a changing exhibition or in my own studio. If you need more information, feel free to contact me!
With pleasure I would like to welcome you to the world of “CouturedeMur”.
